Many of us huddled indoors last week during the cold snap that brought snow to parts of Florida and chilly winds here on the Treasure Coast. Even I couldn't stay on the beach in those temps long enough to do any meaningful photography (yes, this Massachusetts girl has turned wimpy). Instead of feeling sad or stressing that I wasn't out there creating more art, I decided to use the time to do some research and see what other photographers and landscape artists were doing around the globe and gain some inspiration from the abundance of talent that is available right at our fingertips. Through photography and art sharing sites like Instagram and View Bug and others, I was able to access some pretty amazing art right from my couch while I snuggled up with a hot cup of tea and a blanket. And WOW, did I find some cool art - art that made me excited about getting back out there. Art that was truly inspiring. I also brushed up on some new editing techniques and skills as the digital world introduces new and exciting ways for photographers to make their work unique and stand out in a world where everyone has a camera.
So, all that "downtime" served me well and now that the weather is improving here in Vero Beach, look for me on the beach - just South of South Beach Park. And then check back here or in Tiger Lily Art Studios and Gallery for some new and exciting work. Maybe you, too, will be inspired! :)
